First Day in Israel

After a looong flight (10 hours, with a tailwind) we arrived in Tel Aviv at 135 pm Tuesday the 21st. A 45 minute taxi ride to the hotel in Jerusalem (The Dan Panorama). We threw our stuff into a room and hit the bricks. 20 minutes away is the old city. We entered using the Jaffa gate, near the citadel. The pic to right is the reconstructed wall. This was taken on the way back.

We walked into the Arab market and window shopped until hunger overtook us.

We then ate at this little place in the old city, very good kebabs etc.

The proprietor said he understood that the building was built in the 900's. Looks it.

Food was excellent. We talked to some folks from Australia that had been here for few days and got some neat tips about shopping, eating etc.

  5. hello to you both,
Glad to see you both arrived safely. Guess Phil kept dolly away from the cockpit!..lol..Please stay away from people with backpacks (especially if they look nervous!), and buses. The sights look amazing...More pics please!..And how about including yourselves in a pic?, perhaps by where Jesus walked?...How do we know you are really there?...lol!...
Less food chatter, and more info and your thoughts on the sites.
