More from Jerusalem

Our second. day! Free day, meet with the tour folks at 7 pm for "orientation. ". Here's the Wailing Wall and the Dome of the Rock in the background. Very interesting! Lots of soldiers around.

A little to the left of the previous picture. The Mount of Olives in the back and an ongoing archeological site in the front.

More from the same vantage point looking back in the direction of the wailing wall.

The outside of the church of the Holy Sepulchure. One church on top of the previous one etc etc. Very interesting and absolutely steeped in tradition.

So to recap. We had a lovely breakfast in an outdoor place overlooking Jerusalem and then walked through all four quarters of the Old City and out the Damascus gate. We did stop for chai with mint and pomegranate juice. This seems to be a local favorite. We then crossed the street and went to the Garden Tomb. One of the places where Christ "may" have been buried. We then walked back to the hotel and are having an early dinner (at a place with free wifi!) and writing this. Tomorrow we start with the tour. We have directions to a supermarket so we'll see if we can't pick something up for breakfast.

Although I have only posted four pictures I did take 90! I'll try to restrain myself ha ha.
