Well, our last guided tour day. We say good bye to our holiday resort on the Sean of Galilee, Ein Gev. We make our way up to a town called Zafet or Tzafat, a town that has a large impact in the Kabbala school of Judaism.

In addition to being known for Kabbala it is also now an artist colony. Some very beautiful artwork and very scenic!

An hours drive and we are in Acre. An important stop and city for pilgrims and Crusaders alike. A very interesting stop but much too short. In addition we had camera problems (failing batteries) and so most of the pictures are video that Dolly took and cannot be posted here now.

A view of one of the towers at Acre built by one of the Moslem rulers of Akko as it is now known. Some very interesting old crusader architecture and and an ongoing dig. Much yet to discover. In addition to this we also went to Haifa and saw the Bahia'a gardens. Following that a very disappointing visit to Ceasarea. Dolly and I were both very much looking forward to this stop and since the park closed at 4 we had barely 30 minutes at a stop that we could have spent days at. Other than this one day we had a generally good tour and are spending our last night at the Dan Panorama in Tel Aviv. This is by far the nicest hotel we have stayed at so far. We walked a few blocks with some of our co-travelers and had a light dinner and then came back to the hotel. We will go to the archeological museum tomorrow and then off to the airport at 930 pm to catch our 1 AM! flight to Barcelona (via Riga, Latvia!) . I will try to update tomorrow but I may be day behind.

  1. Sounds like you needed one more day there, huh?? That last day seemed pressed for time. But at least you got to view so very many wonderful spots, including those on the last day of the tour.
Good to see that you get to be in the company of the stinkin russians one more time when you guys stop off in Latvia...hehehe.
I pray you have safe and swift travels
ps...I hope neither of you have converted from Catholism!....
