Posting a few days worth.....

October 31st

Finally! Our first day on the ship. After taking a taxi to the port in Barcelona. We boarded the Summit. Lunch was waiting and we decided not to leave the ship and re-embark since we only had 3 ½ hours till last boarding. We explored the ship a little and the it was time for dinner! We met our table-mates two Canadian couples that are also traveling together. They seem nice. Some time at the casino after dinner. Hitting those penny slots pretty hard! Dolly ended up winning $6.45. It was late by then and we crashed.

November 1

A day at sea. Not much doing, some excursion planning. We are at Villafranche on the Cote de’azure. Short bus ride to Nice and Monaco. We’ll have a look around. I’ll probably post all this at once. Sorry, internets getting real pricey. That’s also why you’re seeing more commentary. I don’t have time to think about what to write while I’m doing it.



November 2

Well, our trip to Nice and Monaco was cancelled. Weather was very bad. Gale force winds, heavy rain and cool. This was a tender port and they are concerned that if conditions got worse we would be stuck on shore. So the captain pulled up anchor and we’re off to Livorno. Since it is a docking port weather will have no impact. It is the way to Florence so we’re looking forward to that. The Captain is announcing as we sit here that weather in Livorno will be partly cloudy and cool.
